Having a side story in your muse journal will allow you to have a new development for your muse without have to involve the other muses. For example, some little thing such as having your muse' s house redecorated or spending the night thinking of what your muse have done. Diary entries on the other hand will not only help you in keep track on what your muse has done, but will also help the other player in keeping themselves updated of your muse's life. This will hugely help them especially if their muses are related to your muse and if they have been in a long hiatus.
